If we compare top selling video games in United Kingdom in the year 2022, FIFA 23 ranked first with sales of approx.. 2.54 million copies.  Call of Duty: Modern Warefare II got second place and Elden Ring got third place by selling approximately 1.6 million thousand and 856 thousand units respectively. This sales include sale of digital and physical units.

 

Best-selling game FIFA 23 was developed and published by video game company Electronic Arts Vancouver and EA Romania which is available worldwide. FIFA 23 was released for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox series XIS, PC, PS4 and Xbox One. It is the 30th installment of the sports game. Electronic Arts are well known for publishing multiple other popular video game series viz. Battlefield, Need for Speed, The Sims, and Command & Conquer. 

There are two leading console operating systems in the UK i.e. PlayStation and Xbox. PlayStation had the majority of the market share in the UK in 2019.

 

As per data available at a website, in 2022, Sony's PlayStation's market share of console operating systems in the United Kingdom (UK) stood at around 71.2 percent of the market, overtaking Microsoft's Xbox in terms of market share. Since 2012, PlayStation obtained 96.85 percent of the market share. Now, the market share of PlayStation has decreased considerably and was at 52.64 percent in 2021. Meanwhile, the Xbox market share has gone in upward direction i.e. from zero in 2012 to 47.36 in 2021, before sliding even further to some 28.8 percent market share by 2022.
